Fixed shelves
A simple shelf has no mechanism to fail and can hold large, less-used items. The back is harder to reach, so it suits households comfortable with occasional bending.
Carousels and pull-outs
Rotating or sliding fittings bring items forward. They cost more and the internal shape may waste some volume, but access can be much easier.
Avoid the corner when sensible
Sometimes wide drawers on each side and a blank corner create more useful storage overall. Compare what you can actually reach, not only the cabinet count.
